NSW: Man dead after boat overturns on fishing trip

SYDNEY, Dec 1 AAP - A 36-year-old man drowned after a boat overturned during a fishing trip
near Huskisson on the New South Wales south coast.

A police spokeswoman said the man and a 33-year-old, both from Bundanoon on the Southern
Highlands, were on a fishing trip yesterday afternoon when their aluminium runabout overturned
about 3pm (AEDT).

The men clung to the boat overnight and at 9am a 33-year-old attempted to swim to shore and
was rescued three kilometres off St Georges Head at 4pm today.

The 33-year-olds wife had raised the alarm at 10.30am when the men failed to return home.

The body of the 36-year-old was retrieved at 7pm tonight, the police spokeswoman said.

The 33-year-old is in a stable condition in Nowra Hosptial and police are waiting to
interview him.
